Where and When.
Jiveolution is inviting anyone who would like to take part in DJ Dezi’s 6th Year running "Dance With A Stranger Competition" to be held on Friday 20th April 2012, starting at 7.30pm until 1am at The Sports Hall, Testbourne Community School, Micheldever Road, WHITCHURCH, Hampshire, RG28 7JF.
How Does it Work?
Dance with a stranger completion works by Jiveolution randomly choosing each dancer a partner for the evening and by dancing though a number of elimination heats, we should eventually have a winner!
Why Should Anyone Want to Enter?
For fun, for laughs, for the love of dancing or if you want to start competing; this will be an ideal opportunity to do so! Alternatively, just come along for the freestyle, have a dance yourself and support the couples taking part!
Who Should Apply?
This competition is designed for anyone who can dance modern jive but unfortunately, no teachers will be allowed to enter! Obviously, you should be reasonably fit and have reached a standard that you feel comfortable dancing Modern Jive.
Our DJ Desmond Moors was only 26 when he was tragically killed on April 2nd 2005 whilst riding his motorbike. He lived and breathed jive and motorbikes and was a very fun loving and popular guy. Many will remember him as he had a certain charm about him; his love for music and dance, always made him a centre of attention! So why are we doing this? It’s because Dezi loved entering Dance with a Stranger Competitions!
The Prize.
His parents, Brian and Christine, were so proud of him that they very kindly donated a Shield to Jiveolution, in memory of him as he was our resident DJ and Music advisor. Each year the winners’ names will be engraved on the shield, which we keep @ The Barn for all to see. The winning couple will claim a prize and a trophy each for them to keep. This is an annual competition that takes place around the anniversary of his tragic accident.
